Alexander Dumas wrote the book Count of Monte Cristo. The story is about the imprisonment and eventual escape from Chateau d'if. This is an island fortress prision (Alcatraz is similar). Marseille is a huge shipping harbor for France. I snapped this photo as we were sailing from the harbor.
