Karlstejn Castle - inside

Interior shots of the entry room of the castle.  We had a very steep walk up from the village to get to the castle.  Feels like walking back into medieval times.

Its history of more than six hundred years is related to the most loved and renown Czech King and Roman Emperor Charles the IV, who built the place in fear that plague would threaten Prague. He used to keep there the Coronation Jewels and decorated the palace in the fabulous style of the time. Nowadays the Castle hosts the worlds largest collection of panel paintings by Master Theodoric, the largest portrait gallery of Czech rulers in the country and the replica of the Czech Kings Crown.
