Santiago - The Ritz

We enjoyed our stay at the Ritz Carlton - located in Los Condes (El Golf) area - an upscale business section of Santiago. Plus a wonderful roof top pool and spa with a glass dome with great views of the Andes. We both enjoyed massages. Then walked close by for a wonderful dinner at "Akarana" - wonderful New Zealand style (Pacific Rim) cusine. We chatted with "Dell Taylor: - the owner(also owns several Santiago restaurants). Our A & K guide Piadad - had made the arrangements for our dinner with Dell personally. We enjoyed sitting on the terrace with a wonderful Chilean wine. The Avenida Apoquindo area has many outdoor sculptures. Santiago has recovered well in this part of the city from the 2009 earthquake and is a modern metropolitan area. We were happy to have a very late check out on our last day in Santiago - to have a full day to tour - then go back to the hotel for showers and collect luggage before an overnight flight on American Airlines to Miami (MIA) from Arturo Merino Benitez (in Santiago) (SCL)airport.
