The camp is eco-friendly as all the electric power is supplied by solar panels and water is collected during the rainy season. Travel is very difficult in this park during the rainy season. Often this lodge is closed at that time.
This camp is at the southern border of the Serengeti Park. The camp is still considered to be part of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
This is the dry season and the migrating herds have already traveled north into Kenya searching for better grass. The wildebeest and zebra herds return to Lake Masek and the Southern Serengeti during the rainy season where they give birth to thousands of babies on this plain.
