Smorgasbord at Grand Hotel

Smorgasboard is a must in Sweden and the only place to do it justice is the Grand Hotel in downtown Stockholm. A beautiful restaurant located on the waterfront with fabulous views is the most famous place in the world for smorgasbord.
(We can also call is meal the Amy Dietrich dinner - thanks Amy for starting us on a journey with your lovely dinner. We had many similar dishes at the dinner.)
The correct way to eat smorgasbord is 7 courses: 1. Soup 2. Herring (they had herring 10 ways on the menu) and fish 3. Salads - potato, shellfish with five kinds of salmon 4. Cured meats - lamb, ham, veal 5. Cooked meat and vegetables - 6. Cheese course and finally - if you can manage 7. Desserts - a wonderful array.
Needless to say - we ate our way through all seven courses! Thanks to Lars Wennborg (our son-in-law) for his wonderful suggestions.
